Jackie Hughes began teaching Zumba about two years ago after being introduced Zumba through her friend
Danielle. She wanted to start working out, but found she was not motivated going to the gym. Once she started
Zumba, she did not want to stop. Danielle convinced her to get certified. After being certified the opportunity to
teach at Transformations came up and she jumped at it. At the end of her day, in a corporate position as an HR
Benefits Consultant and Analyst, Jackie unwinds by teaching Zumba and practicing kettlebells. Recently Jackie
participated in a Master Class with Beto, the creator of Zumba. She will soon be featured in an upcoming Zumba
ZIN DVD. Congratulations Jackie!
Jackie's advice to members: Find a workout that you really enjoy. Don’t be afraid to try new classes, especially
at Transformations. If you need help working on your goals, then ask an instructor. We are here to help you succeed
with your personal goals. If you take a class and enjoy it, but feel uncomfortable…GO BACK AND TRY IT AGAIN. I
promise that by the 3rd time you will feel more comfortable and after a couple months you’ll be the pro!!
Marybeth Feeney began teaching yoga about two years ago. Initially, she enrolled in Yoga yoga teacher training
to simply find out more about yoga, not exactly teach it. She wanted to know all the ins and outs of yoga to help her
understand why and how it made her feel so good. Along the way she was encouraged to teach and started subbing
for other yoga instructors. She grew to love teaching yoga more than her profession in the music industry and
transitioned into a full time career in Yoga. She has since gone on to create Boogie Down Yoga, a fusion of yoga
poses to the beat of pop music. In addition, Marybeth still dabbles in the Music industry and has won first runner up in
Irish Idol and has auditioned for American Idol.
Marybeth's advice to members: When beginning a yoga practice, take it slow, keep your mind
and body on your mat (meaning don’t care about what your neighbor looks like in their yoga pose).
Diane Baird began personal training about three years ago. She was always interested in health and fitness and
enjoyed helping others to get fit. After the first season of "The Biggest Loser" was aired, Diane was motivated to
enroll in the National Personal Training Institute and become a personal trainer. Diane is also a runner and has run
several marathons including Chicago and Boston. Her latest passion, kettlebells, has been evolving over the past
several years and she has also become a certified kettlebell instructor. Diane enjoys training people of all ages from
children to adults as well as all ability levels. Diane is a mother of two children and she stresses the importance of
keeping kids healthy and fit.
Diane's advice to members: Set small goals in order to reach your biggest goal.
Consider it a lifestyle change and not a temporary thing.
Only YOU can make this difference, no one else!

Deirdre Coffey has been teaching Zumba for almost two years now. She began taking Zumba classes at
TMC three years ago and was hooked. Jackie encouraged her to get certified and now there's no looking
back; Deirdre loves teaching Zumba! In her professional life, Deirdre is a second grade elementary school
teacher at the Benjamin Banneker Charter Public School.
Deirdre's advice to members: As someone who NEVER even worked out up until 3 years ago, I cannot
stress how much better your life and general outlook will improve once you get into the routine!
There are days when you just don’t feel like working out…don’t beat yourself up over it! Just make it a priority
the following day!
Jaclyn Colucci has been a dancer for over 10 years and a fitness instructor for three. She enjoys helping
people stay active, healthy and is motivated to create fun yet challenging routines that keep people on their
toes and coming back to Transformations! Jaclyn designed and led our popular and successful Kids Hip Hop
Program at Transformations. Jaclyn's full time career is working as a Clinical Research Coordinator within the
Breast Oncology Dept. at Mass General.
Jaclyn's advice to members: Don’t stop moving! Whether you are just starting out or are at an advanced
level- stay true to this and you will see progress. Don’t be intimidated, no body is perfect and over time you
will be more comfortable with moving and although you will not see results in one hour, I can guarantee you
that you will feel better after one hour!

Shauna Cochrane has been teaching at TMC for about a year now. She began as a member and became
hooked on kettlebells. Shauna became certified to teach kettlebells after going through the Kettlebell
Certification and internship program at TMC. Shauna's goal is to spread the word about kettlebells and help
others achieve the goals they set for themselves. Recently, Shauna became a mother and she worked out and
stayed in shape through 8 months of her pregnancy. Shauna has been an inspiration to many!
Shauna's advice to members: Find something you enjoy, that way you will be more likely to stick to it,
but don't be afraid to try different things. With the broad variety of classes available at Transformations there is
something for everyone. Start with baby steps and you never know where they will take you.
Michelle Laurinaitis began teaching Zumba almost two years ago. She always
loved dancing! Michelle began dance lessons at age 5 and continued into her late
teens. As an adult she missed dancing so much and felt a void without it. Michelle
started taking exercise classes at Transformations, discovered Zumba and instantly
fell in love with it! After about 6 months of classes, she got Zumba certified.
Professionally, Michelle has been involved with academic clinical research for 18
years. Michelle is a mother of two children and is very involved in their activities
Michelle’s advice to members: You need to remember to take time for yourself!
Getting away for an hour to participate in exercise is a great way to rejuvenate and
get your mind off the hectic day you may have had. You’ll feel better about yourself
